Welded mesh is a series of wires welded at the intersection of individual wires. The opening of the net varies according to the type of wire used and the function of the net. Regardless of the size and wire gauge of the wire, welded mesh is permanent and impossible to break without using extreme force.
In construction, mild steel is used for holding or strengthening purposes. Fences, safety barriers, partitions, machine guards, cages and aviaries are made of galvanized mild steel. Galvanized welded wire mesh is made of pre-galvanized wire or hot-dip galvanized wire. For aesthetic reasons, hot-dip galvanizing is recommended, as this hides the weld seam.
For use in food or pharmaceutical production, when hygienic standards must be complied with, or when the final product must withstand environmental conditions without being prone to rust, choose stainless steel welded mesh.
Welded mesh can be divided into square welded mesh and rectangular welded mesh according to the mesh shape.
Square welded wire mesh, the intersecting metal wires intersect at right angles, and the spacing is even. It is one of the most versatile forms of welded mesh and is made from carbon steel and stainless steel.
Rectangular welded mesh is constructed similar to square welded mesh with wires intersecting at right angles and the wires are spaced farther apart in one direction. The rectangular design gives the wire mesh more strength.
Welded wire mesh is widely used in industry, agriculture, construction, transportation, mining and other industries. It is mainly used for general building exterior walls, pouring concrete, high-rise residential buildings, etc., and plays an important structural role in the thermal insulation system
